Light Worsted Weight Recycled Cashmere Yarn in Grey and White

100% cashmere yarn in grey and white, carefully reclaimed from a discarded women’s sweater.  The yarn is made up of dark grey, light grey, and white strands plied together for a barberpole or marled effect.  This yarn is light worsted weight at 10 wraps per inch, very strong, but deliciously soft and pettable.

This sweater yielded four skeins:

• 270 yards / 247 meters, 3.8 ounces / 108 grams, 2 knots
• 260 yards / 238 meters, 3.7 ounces / 105 grams, 1 knot
• 220 yards / 201 meters, 3.1 ounces / 89 grams, 1 knot
• 210 yards / 192 meters, 3.0 ounces / 86 grams, no knots

Cashmere is light, warm, soft, and surprisingly durable. Handwash in lukewarm water with a wool-safe detergent (or a squirt of shampoo and a dab of conditioner), and dry flat.
