Lace Weight Cashmere Recycled Yarn in Taupe Tweed

100% cashmere yarn, carefully reclaimed from a discarded women’s sweater dress.  This yarn is two ply and lace weight, a little thicker and stronger than many recycled cashmere yarns. The color is a warm greyish brown, or taupe, with flecks of black and tan for added texture and interest.

This sweater yielded five skeins:

• 610 yards / 558 meters, 2.9 ounces / 81 grams, 2 knots

• 540 yards / 494 meters, 2.5 ounces / 71 grams, 2 knots
• 520 yards / 475 meters, 2.4 ounces / 69 grams, 2 knots
• 490 yards / 448 meters, 2.35 ounces / 67 grams, no knots

Cashmere is light, warm, soft, and surprisingly durable. Handwash in lukewarm water with a wool-safe detergent (or a squirt of shampoo and a dab of conditioner), and dry flat.
